Tampines Rovers chairman Teo Hock Seng no longer want marquee players as he target youngsters from now on.
The Eastern giant had signed a marquee player Wanger at the start of the season for S$325000 but the Argentine was a disappointment and left before the start of the June transfer window.
Now they are on the verge of signing 20-year-old Diego Caramelo, who is a striker, and 21-year-old Vitor Ladeiras who is a playermarker.
Teo admits both may still be raw but they are worth the gamble.
'There's no harm.....If they are no good , we'll send them back and we'll look at others," said Teo.
"I'd rather sign young players like these two than big money on a 33-year-old because of his name. Look at Farra (Mustafic Fahruddin) I brought him in when he was 20 (in 2002) and look at him now."
