Home United make a winning start to the 2010 S-league season with a 2-1 win against Albirex Niigata (S).
Their goals came from Juma'at Jantan and Shahril Ishak while Albirex Niigata reply through a Ken Matsumoto goal.
Despite this win, it was clear Home United was still a work in progress as they seek to play the modern attacking football promised by their Korean coach Lee Lim Saeng.
For more than an hour, Home United was the more attacking side but their attacks were mostly scrappy affairs.
Clearly, not having his full squad with in for much of pre-season training - A result of late appointment due to Vincent Subramaniam skipping town and King Cup - have meant Home United is likely to be starting their real pre-season training now and gelling the squad with the new ideas of the coach.
But, that no excuse and he will know a coach is only judged by his results so he had started well for a team that had struggled away from their designed 'home', Clementi, for most of last season.
