Home take big step toward title after victory in Uniform Derby

Home United have taken a big step toward winning the 2011 S-league title by beating SAFFC 3-2 in the uniform Derby at Bishan.

Frederic Mendy, Qiu Li and Firdaus Idros scored for the Protectors with Mislav Karoglan and Fazrul Nawaz replying for the Warriors.

This victory has enable the Protectors to open up a 5-point gap at the top between them and their rivals.

In other matches, Albirex Niigata (S) crushed Gombak United 5-1, Balestier Khalsa defeated TPUFC 2-0 and Courts Young Lions crushed Woodlands Wellington 4-0.

Shotaro Ihata and Bruno Castanheira each scored a brace for the White Swans with Tatsuro Inui notching the fifth goal while Obadin Aikhena scored the sole goal for the Bulls.

Kim Young Kwang and Mark Kevin McGough scored for the Tigers in their win.

Khairul Nizam, Safuwan Baharudin, Faris Ramli and Ruzaini Zainal scored in the Courts Young Lions victory.
