Vallee: Balestier were not playing football

Tanjong Pagar United coach Patrick Vallee was visibly upset at the final whistle and it was not just because his side lost but also because the Frenchman was irate at how Balestier “were not playing football”.

“One team decided to get rough but it’s okay - this is football," he said.

“We weren't at fault for the loss but we have to move on from this and focus on Harimau Muda [next].”

Regarding a scuffle that took place in the Balestier dugout, Vallee revealed that a member of the Balestier management staff mouthed off at him, which got him riled up.

The Jaguars boss was disappointed to lose Anthony Aymard to a concussion as well as Aurelien Herisson, who was shown the red card for a challenge on Cunningham in the second half, but remained optimistic.

“Tanjong Pagar are always in a good position despite the loss," he concluded.
