Albirex Niigata (S) may be in the top 3 but are falling off the pace at the top after suffering their second defeat this season and are now winless in their last four matches.
But coach Koichi Sugiyama is not concerned about his side’s dip in form and believes they will close the gap at the top.
He said, “The season is still early. But we want to get closer to Tampines and beat them in our next game against them.
“It’s fine that we lost against them today but we must beat the other weaker teams.”
“We have to beat Balestier Khalsa next Tuesday but it’s going to be another physical game as they have big players too,” he added
