Own goal give Warriors chance while Stags dream are over

Warriors FC are still in the AFC Cup thanks to an own goal as they defeated Churchill Brothers 1-0 at Jalan Besar.

With second placed Kitchee FC losing their second match in a row, the Warriors can get back into the race for the knockout stage but it will not be easy.

The Choa Chu Kang side still need a perfect ending and also for Kitchee not to win their encounter in two weeks time against Churchill Brother.

The things going for them is Kitchee and Churchill Brothers are both involved in title fight in their domestic league so need to be at full strength for it and this may wiped them out.

A draw between them with a win against Semen Padang will be the best result situation for Warriors but for now the Warriors will just be happy to be still in the race.

Especially as Tampines are virtually out no matter how one looked at it as second placed Saigon just need one more point and it will be out of the reach of the Stags.

But they have nobody to blame as they lost yet again with them going 1-2 down against East Bengal in India.

Shaiful Esah got their goal.
