Ismail Yunos thanked John Yap and Raddy

Former Singapore U23 international defender Ismail Yunos have told the media he will not forget the help John Yap and Raddy have given to him.

He revealed after his second career threatening injury, sustained against Albirex Niigata (S) in a league match last season, he had wanted to retired as his first career threatening injury had happen only a year ago and it took him nearly an entire year to get well.

But that was before Raddy, the Lions coach, came over and talk to him.

The 60-year-old Serbian had told Ismail that he still retain the faith of Raddy that he can still make into the national team and Ismail was delighted to hear that so he decide to work hard to regain his fitness for the second time in two years.

His career then hit a patch as Home United was not willing to offer him a new contract without him proving his fitness first and he was disappointed as he believed he was injured for the club so the club should 'repay' him.

At that point, John Yap, chairman of Gombak United, step in and without any hesitation John Yap offered the 24-year-old a two-year contract without the need to see his fitness.

Ismail was delighted and that was why he was willing to take a 40% cut in his pay to join Gombak United.

Now he want to repay the faith of the two man that have put so much faith in him.
