It may seem strange to readers as many will have believed former Lions skipper Aide Iskandar has retired at the end of last season and they are right but the defender, now coach, has never formally announced it.
It was even speculated by the Sengkang Punggol fan blog, before the start of the season, if the 34-year-old will register himself as a player as well considering in this age and time, 34-year-old is still too young to retire.
But now there is no hiding as Aide has reach out to the S-league website to announce his retirement formally.
He has played for Home United (1996-2005), Malaysian side Johor FA (2006), Tampines Rovers (2006) and Geylang United (2007-2008) before joining Sengkang Punggol as player-assistant coach last year.
