Home United hopes are gone

Home United chances for a third S-league crown, and their first since 2003, is finally gone.

With the 1-1 draw against Gombak United, the Protectors now need both Etoile FC and Tampines Rovers to drop points in their weekend matches and quite frankly, they might as well ask for the moon.

If there is any fault to attach to anybody, it is their chairman Koh Siong Ling who had allowed their skipper to leave (and for nothing some more)

Since then, the Protectors have not won both their crucial matches and it was after going on a 14-win run in 17 matches in which their ex-skipper had played a vital role.

Top spot should have been their as Etoile FC had drop points last week and if the Protectors had won, they should have been 4 points clear and not level with Etoile FC; who have 1 game in hand.

Koh Siong Ling had cost Home United the 2010 title and surely, he must be asked to answer for it.

Shi Jiayi scored for the Protectors with Jeremy Chiang replying for the Bulls.
