Sundram is back as the Young Lions coach; a post he requisitioned back in 2009 as he took over the Olympic squad.
Ex-head coach Terry Pathmanathan will be his assistant.
FAS made the change claiming Sundram had taken over the Olympic and Asian Games squad, and since this Young Lions squad will provide most of the players for the two competitions, it makes sense for him to take charge of them.
They also claimed Terry Pathmanathan will be tasked with the duty to help for players outside of the FAS system.
But one has doubts as now ex-Young Lions coach Terry Pathmanathan tactic and management of players must been questioned throughout the 2009 season and even in the SEA Games in which Singapore youngest-ever squad won a Bronze.
It took on extra proportion as even National coach Raddy had wished Terry Pathmanathan had done more to guide the players and played a passing type in an age-youth competition so as to expose the players thus developing them for the National team (Which is what a youth coach should be doing)
The pre-Olympic qualifiers will see the nation’s under-21 team compete later this year, while the Asian Games in November is an under-23 tournament.
