SAFFC held AIK to share Charity Shield

S-league champions SAFFC held Swede side AIK 1-1 to share the S-league Charity Shield.

This is SAFFC second Charity Shield after their first back in 08.

But the main focus is Singapore football legend Dollah Kassim, the “Gelek King” of the late 1960s and ’70s. The 60-year-old is in coma, recuperating at home after collapsing during a veterans game last October.

The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) had pledged all proceeds from the Charity Shield to Dollah’s family, and last night’s collection amounted to $12,000.

With pledges from S-League sponsors and club chairmen, proceeds from the sale of FAS calendars, as well as donations from well-wishers, the total amount raised stands at $82,000.
