Top 2 triumphed

Both the top two in the S-league won their matches to open up a gap in the S-league race.

Second-placed Albirex Niigata (S) are now 7 points clear of third-placed Tanjong Pagar United with Leader and Champion Tampines Rovers a further two points ahead.

Tampines Rovers defeated Warriors FC 1-0 thanks to a goal from Jamil Ali.

It inflicted a defeat on Warriors FC new coach Alex Weaver on his debut and it showcased how much he has to do to bring back the glory days for the defending Singapore Cup champions.

Albirex Niigata (S) won 2-0 against DPMM Brunei with goals from Kazuki Sakamoto and Masatake Sato.
