Singapore beat Myanmar and Laos

Singapore won their friendly against Myanmar at Yangon as they defeated the home side 2-0 with goals from Shaiful Esah and Khairul Amri.

Singapore followed up that as they won their second international in a week as they defeated Laos 5-2 after strikes from Indra Sahdan, Hariss Harun and Safuwan Baharudin gave them a 3-0 lead at half-time

But they lost their way in the second period as Laos pulled 2 goals back before Gabriel Quak and Hafiz Rahim make the game safe with their goals.

2015 ACQ: Jordan thrashed Singapore

If it was a football lesson in the first half, it was a finishing lesson in the second period as Jordan hit 3 more goals to win 4-0.

Clearly their coach have instructed them to get into the box before firing off their shots as in the first period, a number of them attempted Gerrad-type shooting rather than play the ball around to stretch Singapore defence.

They did that in the second period and the reward was they got 3 more goals.

International Caps - 100 caps and beyond

Starting from this year, I will be putting up the record of Singaporeans with 100 caps or more on the site whenever a new player get in or the player in the list retire but take note, as with the rule I set up on international matches, FIFA as the authority of international football, must accept them or I cannot accept it thus Fandi Ahamd and David Lee are not in the list.

The reason is they have only 97 (Fandi Ahmad) and 95 (David Lee) despite what FAS claim as FIFA have chopped off caps from their respective records and will not accept them.

Nazir Nasir, who is in the list, barely got in as well as FIFA chopped off 4 caps to reduce his number to just 100.

The best reason for accepting FIFA view and not others is if FAS did not want FIFA approval they will never have handed over the list to FIFA to assess if the players are admitted thus if FAS want FIFA approval themselves, they should have no complain if FIFA refused to admit them in the end.

Singapore win fourth ASEAN title

Thailand 1-0 Singapore

Singapore has won their 4th ASEAN title as they defeated Thailand 3-2 overall.

The first leg win by Singapore at Jalan Besar proved too much for the Thais to overcome even with home advantage.

Especially as Singapore decided to sit back and let the Thais asked the questions for it is them who need not only the win but also by a two-goal margin.

For despite the Thais creating a number of chances they never make Singapore number custodian Izwan Mahbud make a save considered tough until the final 5minutes.

That was why despite getting the opening goal at the stroke of half-time, the Thais were unable to get another goal to give them the trophy.

With that, Singapore won their fourth title in the last 8 attempts and it is Raddy 3rd titles making him the most successful coach in ASEAN championship.

Singapore has taken a huge lead to Bangkok as they defeated heavy favourite Thailand 3-1 at Jalan Besar.

Mustafic Fahrudin, named Man of the Match by a number of media sources, gave Singapore the lead as he scored from a spot kick after Duric was fouled in the box.

With Mustafic Fahrudin showing why he was named Man of the Match by a number of media sources for keeping Thai playmaker Teerasil Dangda quiet, the Lions should have scored a second before the break but it did not come about.

After half-time, the Thai nearly make Singapore pay as they equalised but Khairul Amri off a Duirc cross scored almost immediately for the home side to take the lead for the second time.

Singapore continue to play impressively and earn their third goals as Thai keeper flagged the last corner of the game in injury time and Baihakki pound on the mistake to give Singapore a healty two-goal lead for the reutrn leg in Bangkok in 3 days time.

Singapore reach the final of the Suzuki Cup as they defeated Philippines 1-0 in the second leg of the Suzuki Cup semi-final at Jalan Besar.

Khairul Amri hit the winner early in the first half and had chances to kill off the game but never did.

After that, although Philippines seek a comeback yet it never materialise as they failed to breach the Singapore backline

With that, Singapore was going to their fourth Final in the past 8 editions.

Singapore beat Laos 4-3 to reach the semi-final of the Suzuki Cup but it was as close as the scorelijne suggest.

The Lions went down 0-2 before skipper Shahril Ishak pull one back just before half-time.

Next the skipper will put us back on level term just after half-time and after which Khariul Amri will scored a stunning free-kick to put Singapore ahead.

Fazrul Nawaz will score once again for Singapore almost immediately after the restart.

With the score and leader Indonesia losing to host and defending champion, Singapore top the group.

Away woes continue for Singapore

After failing to win against Myanmar despite taking the lead, it is now Singapore 9th away games in a row that Singapore have been unable to secure a win.

Taking into account the Suzuki Cup 2010 results, it mean Singapore has only won once from 12 games and it is an indication of how bad Singapore has become away from our shore.

The last team Singapore beat was Myanmar but this time, Singapore failed despite Agu Casmir getting on the scoreline like last time as Myanmar got the equaliser and hold out for a draw.
