Stags victorious but remain second

Tampines Rovers defeated Sengkang Punggol 3-1 at the Hougang Stadium but remain second, a point, behind Etoile FC with one game remaining.

The title race nearly did not last that long as the Hougang club had scored the equaliser with 15 minutes to go with a Kenji Arai penalty.

Stags skipper Aliff Shafaein had already given the Stags the lead early in the first half

At that point, it looked lost for the Eastern giant but up step regular goalscorer and hero Aleksandar Duric to rescue the club once again.

The Singaporean international had already rescue the club's season last week in the Eastern Derby with the winner in the last 10 minute of that titanic battle.

This week, it was no different as he step up to notch the Stags second goal of the match to kill off the Dolphins.

As an insurance, he got the Stags third goal as well to finally ensure all 3 points are going to Tampines and keeping the title race alive, if only just.
