According to Vietfootball blog, Vietnam is set to lose striker Nguyen Viet Thang for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup after he injured himself in the VFF Cup against, ironically, the Lions.
While not a prolific goalscorer, he is the main partner of Vietnam top forward Le Cong Vinh in the national setup and both of them played a significant part in the last AFF Suzuki Cup campaign which saw Vietnam emerged champions.
Singapore is grouped with host Vietnam as well as Myanmar and Philippines in the AFF Suzuki Cup group stage.
