Stewart fine with squad

Despite being the only club without a fifth foreigner, Balestier coach Darren Stewart is fine with the situation of his squad.

Especially as they have strengthen their squad as they have captured Singapore forward Qiu Li, former Gombak United centreback Obadin Aikhena and goalkeeper Zaiful Nizam.

“They’re absolutely superb players. Qiu Li showed his class with that goal and he’s exactly what we need in this team," the Australian said.

That is why he is not worry if the Toa Poyah signed another foreigner even as the club continue to look for a player who fit into the marquee status they are seeking.

“Yeah we’re still looking for that player, let’s see what happens. If we get one it’ll be good, or else there’s no problem if we don’t," the 46-year-old claimed.
