Pagar United welcomed Tampines Rovers to the Queenstown Stadium and
finally recorded their first home win of the season on Sunday night.
A second half strike from Kamel Ramdani saw Patrick Vallee’s side beat the Stags 1-0 in a game of tactical defending.
The Frenchman, with a trademark smile smeared across his face, was a happy man at the post-match press conference.
“Tonight one team played football," he declared.
“Tampines Rovers played well but Tanjong Pagar deserved to win because my players did well to stick with plan.”
The Jaguars were uncharacteristically more defensive against the Stags and Vallee openly admitted that it was his strategy going into the game.
“We achieved one of our objectives this season and it was to obtain at least 20 points from the first 10 games,” he added.
“It was a very good game for the S.League and the result could have gone either way.
“I am very happy with the conclusion but there is no time to celebrate as we have a tough game against Balestier Khalsa this Wednesday."
