Eagles lose before AFC Cup clash

The Eagles lost a morale boosting game against Beijing Gouan (S) before their AFC Cup next week against the V-league Champions SHB Da Nang in Vietnam.

It was not just they lost 1-3 but the way they lost it as the Chinese side totally boss them and should have won by a bigger margin.

Tan Tiancheng score twice with Zhang Xizhe getting the other while it was Peter Tomko who got the goal for the Eagles.

With a history of slow start in recent time, Coach Mike Wong will have much work to do to get the Eagles back on track before next week game and he must know it as the Eagles season could be in 'danger' of being derailed before it even start.

The night before, it appeared the French gave a good performance both on and off the pitch with firework (Singapore now allowed it as just a few years ago, it was a no, no)

They had got MediaCorp artiste Jamie Yeo to host the pre-game and half-time show while in between Julien Deletraz, Cyril Bagnost and Frederic Mendy, with 2 goals, were the show as the Stars (Their nickname) won 4-0 against Woodlands Wellington.
