Champions start their rebuilding

Seven-time Champions SAFFC have started their rebuilding as they captured 21-year-old Akira Takase from Albirex Niigata (S).

The forward may have scored 6 times for his club in the league in the last campaign only but is surely looked upon as a long-term investment by the Champions as he can be registered for the foreigner slot in the Prime League thus freeing up their S-league foreigner slots.

Therefore the Japanese forward can then be looked at more closely at Choa Chu Kang by coach Richard Bok to see if he is worth a slot after 2010 as a player who have scored 36 times in the domestic scene, since his debut in 2007, cannot be that bad.

At the same time, Woodlands Wellington goalkeeper and former international Rezal Hassan is linked with a move back to the Choa Chu Kang to join the Champions, the club he started his S-league career, where he has been reportedly offered a post as both goalkeeper, where he is likely to be behind Shahril Jantan, cum goalkeeper coach.

It should be a good move for Rezal at this stage of his career, even if the 34-year-old can still play on for another few years at the top level, as he could now looked forward to another career beside just being on the pitch.
